The family of TD Ameritrade founder Joe Ricketts bought Wrigley Field, a 95 percent stake in the Cubs and a 25 percent stake in Comcast SportsNet Chicago from the Tribune Company for $845 million in October 2009.

The Tribune Company had purchased the Cubs for $20.5M in 1981. Forbes magazine valued the club at $700M in April, 2009.
